Happy happy New Year all! I hope you all had a wonderful festive period with your friends and family and I hope 2018 is treating you well. Between you and I, I am very pumped for this year as I entered 2018 in the most beautiful way by declaring prayers in church and surrounded by my family. I am so pumped and ready to dive into this year and of course 2018 landed on my favourite day – Monday. I always see Monday’s as a new beginning, a fresh start to things. Anything I want to do I always start on a Monday especially my diets. So, I know that year will be amazing.
So, it’s the first week of January and I know some of you are trying to smash your new year resolutions. This was me last year, I was so busy focusing on the end goal that when I slipped up or deviated along the way I took it as a major L (loss). However, I am here to tell you (and myself) to relax, don’t be too focused on the end goal, enjoy the process. Enjoy the learning, the continuous going back to the drawing board, the struggle, the blood, sweat and tears. I know what I am saying is a bit unconventional and not the usual airy fairy new year post that everyone seems to write. But I am here to tell you that if you want to really smash those goals and leave the excuses behind prepare to feel uncomfortable, prepare to hate the process. After all Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Even though, this year I do have certain goals that I want to reach. I am more focused on these three keywords: discipline, consistency and engagement. They may mean nothing to you but I said that this year I want everything that I do to reflect these three words. For example, I want to be discipline when it comes to getting uni and blog work done. I want to be consistent with my fitness and healthy eating. I want to engage more with my family and with you guys my readers and followers. I use these keywords with the hopes that if I don’t reach my goals, I will look back and see that I stayed disciplined, consistent and engaged.
And now my plans for 2018 for this blog is simple… CREATE MORE CONTENT! This year I want to create more fabulous content that relates to what A Slice Of Elle is all about – a food and lifestyle blog if you are new here. Expect more delicious recipes and with a sprinkle of some lifestyle post. I know it’s being a while since I last posted a lifestyle post but expect more this year. I said that this year is the year of getting out of my comfort zone and exploring what lies beyond. And I thought what better way of me an avid carnivore turn into a vegetarian for a whole month and whilst detoxing my body from the junk I ate over the festive period. So, this month of January is dedicated to all things veggie, I will be exploring the wonderful world of vegetarians and will be dining like them for a whole 31 days. I must admit, I did slip up today had a cheeky Nandos but tomorrow is a brand-new day to start again lol. So, starting from next week expect delicious vegetarian recipes and updates of my journey.
